The Islamic Republic of Iran has one of the most institutionalized Traditional Medicine systems in the WHO East Mediterranean Region, based on Persian Medicine, which has many similarities with Unani Medicine. <\/span>Hakims<\/span><\/i> (traditional physicians) are formally trained and services include pulse diagnosis, plant-based remedies and lifestyle-based healing.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health and Medical Education has established dedicated faculties for Traditional Medicine, national policy guidelines and a licensing system for practitioners. Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine is offered in both public and private hospitals and integrated into the national health
