Uruguay\u2019s Traditional and Complementary Medicine practices draw from Guaran\u00ed Indigenous heritage and European rural folk healing. Herbalism, <\/span>sobadas<\/span><\/i> (manual therapies) and spiritual consultation remain common in rural areas, often practised by elder women and local healers. Homeopathy and acupuncture are also widely used as complementary therapies in urban settings.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Public Health has supported the inclusion of Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine through professional recognition and training programmes, particularly in homeopathy and acupuncture.
