Jamaica\u2019s Traditional Medicine systems are shaped by African, Ta\u00edno and European influences, most notably expressed through the island\u2019s rich heritage of bush medicine, herbalism and spiritual healing. Local practitioners use plant-based remedies, <\/span>root tonics<\/span><\/i> and ritual practices rooted in <\/span>Afro-Jamaican<\/span> cosmologies and Christian spirituality to address a variety of health conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although Jamaica does not yet have a comprehensive policy for Traditional Medicine integration, the Ministry of Health and Wellness has supported initiatives to research and document medicinal plants and promote community-based health knowledge. Traditional remedies continue to play an active role in household care and community health-seeking
