Haiti\u2019s Traditional Medicine is deeply embedded in the country\u2019s spiritual, cultural and social life. Practices blend Indigenous Ta\u00edno elements, West African healing systems and Catholic influences, most visibly in the <\/span>Vodou<\/span><\/i> tradition. Herbal medicine, spiritual baths and community-based care are widely used, especially in rural and marginalized urban areas.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Haitian Ministry of Public Health and Population has recognized traditional healers\u2019 contributions in primary health care, though regulatory structures are still limited. Traditional birth attendants (<\/span>fanm chay<\/span><\/i>) are particularly involved in maternal care, and some nongovernmental organizations collaborate with healers in community health promotion and mental health
