Dominica\u2019s Traditional Medicine practices are rooted in Kalinago Indigenous heritage and <\/span>Afro-Caribbean<\/span> healing traditions. The use of bush medicine, steam baths and spiritual cleansing is still common, especially in rural areas and the Kalinago Territory. Healers often draw on extensive local plant knowledge passed down orally through generations.<\/span><\/p>\n

While Dominica does not yet have a formal national policy on Traditional Medicine, the Ministry of Health has supported ethnobotanical research and public education around safe herbal practices. Collaborations between community elders, health workers and herbalists are beginning to explore integrative pathways, particularly in the context of wellness tourism and noncommunicable disease
