Uganda\u2019s Traditional Medicine systems draw on the diverse cultural knowledge of over 50 ethnic groups, including Baganda, Banyankole, Basoga and Acholi. Herbalism, spiritual healing, bone-setting and traditional birth care are widely practised, with knowledge passed through familial and community networks. Practitioners, known locally as\u00a0<\/span>abasawo b\u2019eddagala<\/span><\/i>\u00a0(herbalists), are recognized as key community health providers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health has developed a\u00a0National Policy on Traditional and Complementary Medicine\u00a0and is implementing frameworks for practitioner registration, training and integration. Uganda also supports scientific validation of herbal products and has created partnerships between traditional healers and biomedical
