Healers (<\/span>gu\u00e9risseurs<\/span><\/i>,\u00a0<\/span>bokonon<\/span><\/i> and midwives) offer herbal remedies, spiritual consultation and divination practices. These services are often the first point of care, especially in rural settings and remain essential for treating chronic and culturally interpreted conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health has made strides in formalizing Traditional Medicine through policies that promote research, regulate practice and support the development of a national pharmacopoeia. Practitioners are organized into professional associations and are increasingly engaged in national health initiatives, including malaria control and maternal
