Namibia\u2019s Traditional Medicine systems reflect the ancestral healing knowledge of Indigenous communities, including Ovambo, Herero, Damara, Nama and San peoples. Practices such as herbal therapy, bone-setting and divination are central to health care, especially in rural and pastoralist regions. Knowledge is often held by elders and passed through apprenticeship, rooted in deep ecological and spiritual relationships with the land.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health and Social Services has engaged with traditional healers through community forums and stakeholder consultations. While Namibia does not yet have a fully implemented national policy, ongoing efforts focus on developing frameworks for recognition, safe practice and collaboration between traditional and biomedical systems, especially in maternal and primary
