Traditional Medicine in Mozambique remains a central part of health care, particularly among Makua, Sena, Tsonga and Shangaan peoples. Healing practices include herbal medicine, ancestral spirit communication, divination and ritual ceremonies performed by traditional healers known as <\/span>curandeiros<\/span><\/i> or <\/span>n\u2019angas<\/span><\/i>. These practitioners are highly trusted, especially in rural and post-conflict contexts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mozambique was among the early adopters of a\u00a0National Policy on Traditional Medicine\u00a0(adopted in 2004), with implementation overseen by the Ministry of Health. The country has established registration systems for traditional healers, supported training initiatives and incorporated Traditional Medicine into public health outreach for HIV\/AIDS, malaria and maternal
