Guinea-Bissau\u2019s Traditional Medicine systems are shaped by Indigenous Balanta, Fula, Mandinka and Papel traditions, along with Islamic and Afro\u2013Atlantic spiritual influences. Healing is often provided through a mix of herbal therapy, ritual ceremonies and divination, with healers and midwives holding respected roles in their communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

While the health system faces resource limitations, Traditional Medicine plays a crucial role in service delivery, especially in remote areas. The Ministry of Public Health has acknowledged its importance and is working with local organizations to support documentation, preservation and preliminary efforts towards regulatory development. Community partnerships are particularly active in reproductive and child
