Guinea\u2019s traditional healing systems are an important part of the national health landscape, particularly among Fulani, Malinke and Susu communities. Healers \u2013 referred to as\u00a0<\/span>f\u00e9ticheurs<\/span><\/i>\u00a0or\u00a0<\/span>gu\u00e9risseurs<\/span><\/i> \u2013 use medicinal plants, energy-based rituals and Islamic-influenced spiritual healing to treat a wide range of illnesses. Many families rely on traditional methods as their first line of care.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene has expressed a strong interest in promoting the safe and effective integration of Traditional Medicine into national strategies. Through collaboration with WHO and regional partners, Guinea has initiated policy discussions and workshops aimed at documenting practices and training practitioners, especially in maternal and community
