The Republic of the Congo maintains diverse Traditional Medicine practices rooted in the spiritual, ecological and ancestral knowledge of Bantu and Indigenous forest-dwelling communities. Commonly used approaches include herbal therapies, divination, healing rituals and the use of sacred objects, often passed down through oral transmission and apprenticeship.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health and Population has recognized the value of Traditional Medicine within its national development strategies. Policies are being developed to regulate traditional practitioners and promote collaboration with biomedical professionals, particularly at the primary care level. Traditional healers and birth attendants continue to serve as frontline providers, especially in underserved rural
