Benin\u2019s Traditional Medicine landscape is deeply rooted in the cultural practices of its diverse ethnic groups, including Fon, Yoruba and Bariba communities. Traditional healers (<\/span>tradipraticiens<\/span><\/i>) utilize a variety of herbal remedies, spiritual rituals and ancestral knowledge to address health concerns. These practices are integral to community life and are often the first point of care, especially in rural areas where access to conventional health care may be limited.<\/span>\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n

The Beninese government has recognized the importance of Traditional Medicine through the establishment of the National Program of Pharmacopoeia and Traditional Medicine. This programme aims to integrate traditional practices into the national health system by developing regulatory frameworks, promoting research and facilitating collaboration between traditional and modern health care providers. Efforts are ongoing to formalize the roles of traditional practitioners and ensure the safety and efficacy of traditional
