Angola possesses a long-standing tradition of Indigenous and community-based healing, rooted in the cultural practices of its many ethnolinguistic groups such as Ovimbundu, Kimbundu and Bakongo. Healing systems often combine spiritual practices, herbal medicine, bone-setting and ancestral rituals with knowledge passed down orally across generations. These practices continue to play a vital role in primary health care, especially in rural and periurban areas.<\/span><\/p>\n

The government of Angola has acknowledged the significance of Traditional Medicine in health delivery and has initiated policy development aimed at integrating these systems within the national health framework. Although formal structures are still evolving, traditional healers and birth attendants serve as important community-level providers, particularly in areas with limited biomedical
